It's a food food week

Starting off this post with my selfies (as usual)

Met up with J and A for korean BBQ last night.
I was soooo hungover from friday night @ Zouk I nearly didn't make it to our dinner.
Brought them to my fav korean BBQ place : Superstar K!
I'm sure this restaurant need not much explanation since it's already quite popular,
but the food there's awesome.
They have awesome service too!
They actually cook the meats for you,
and they have free flow of water
(extremely rare especially when all restaurants charge for their water recently).

Super love it that everyone has this plate set.
The chili is good, the onion is good, the seasoned salt too.

 My fav fluffy eggs!
There will be 2 free rounds of small dishes, as well as this!

Well marbled beef.
The soy chicken is delicious and well seasoned.
Didn't really enjoy the pork because it was too hard for my braces to handle.
Otherwise, pretty good too.

Went for chinese food on friday night with my family.
The food there's not bad,
but the main thing you go for would be the ambience.
While you're eating, there will be live performance,
mostly singing mandarin oldies.

Crabmeat tofu which goes really well with a bowl of rice

This is quite a failed dish.
Honey sauce pork slices.
The pork slices smelled really bad,
like pigs that didn't bathe for years.

My all time fav! Salted egg yolk prawn!
No one can ever screw up salted egg yolk dishes, methinks.

Peking duck with very nice prawn crackers.
They actually saved us the hassle by wrapping em for us.

 Crispy fried eel skin.
Quite nice for an appetizer.

"Saliva chicken" in mandarin.
The one they serve is slightly special,
it comes with peanuts.
The sauce is good; spicy yet sour, savory yet sweet.

Went to party after dinner with the boys.
Zouk was super crowded but we managed to get a table at Phuture.
Lucky us.
As usual I wasn't drunk.
But I couldn't say the same for some of my friends.

Lets play "spot the drunkard"
Can't really tell from the pictures eh?

Anyway, it's sunday!
Time for some well deserved rest after a good good weekend.

Family's favourite brunch: M Hotel Cafe 2000

Check out my new pretty heels ;)

So... eventually I went out for girls night out on Saturday,
BUT I'm so proud of myself!
Despite constant peer pressure and nagging from my girls throughout the night,
I managed to go through the night without a single drop of alcohol down my throat.
I even took antibiotics in the club while J flashed the torchlight on me so I could see
(which was extremely embarrassing because everyone saw me popping meds in a club)

I left early, at 2ish when the girls were tipsy.
(my cue to leave because they would be HAVING FUN while I'll be STIFF & SOBER)

Nevertheless, I was glad that I went home early because momsy brought us all to our usual brunch
at M hotel the next day.
The brunch ($57++/person) comes with a big portion of main course of your choice,
and also access to the buffet table which includes soup, assortment of breads, cold seafood, laksa, appetizers, fried foods, sashimi, sushi, etc.
Frankly, it's too much for me to handle.
Everytime I'll go crazy deciding between the main course and buffet.
I tend to be full after the main course and has no more room space for the buffet,
but I can't stand passing up the cold crabs, laksa and sashimi,
so I'll overeat all the time :(

I really love the prawns they serve. Very big, juicy and sweet.

My medium rare ribeye with ratatouille and baked potato with sour cream
Mom and sis' Atlantic cod with pan fried foie gras in miso sauce

I know for 57++ it's quite pricey,
but I think it's pretty worth it since the main course is pretty big and there's buffet too.
The brunch is only available on weekends though.
I've tried their lunch/dinner buffet too, it's amazing but they don't have wide array of options.

*************

A whole afternoon of shopping after a filling brunch is the best way to spend a Sunday.
& I bought lotsa stuff!
Happygirl91.
As usual I bought most of my casual wear from f21.
F21 always have clothes that fit me perfectly, it's annoying because I'll overspend whenever I'm just cruising around to kill time.

Momsy was bored at F21 hence me and sis promised to go places she likes.
We went to check out the new Robinson at Heeren.
I was kinda amazed by their shopping area;
it's wayyy more spacious and stylish than any other Robinsons.
The interior of the departmental store's very unique,
it feels like shopping in another country.
I love their fitting rooms the most because
they have the size of 7 normal fitting rooms combined,
with pretty chairs and mirrors inside each of it.
My mom and sis actually went in together with me to see me fit dresses,
and also to rest their feet heh!
Talk about more bonding time during shopping.

Their clothing racks and displays make all the clothes look so classy and unaffordable,
but in actual fact, they aren't as pricey as they look;
I was fooled by the look of their display hmpf.
Gotta check out their price tags!

Now my feet are sore from yesterday's shopping,
& there's yoga lesson later,
soooo dead
:(

Stay home weekends

I've gotten hair extensions!
Had short hair for quite awhile, getting bored of it.
Can't wait for my real hair to really grow out.

Momsy prepared popiah fixings for today's lunch.
she has been craving for it for weeks, wasn't surprised to see them at the dining table this afternoon.
I have no talent when it comes to wrapping a popiah; the ingredients just keep falling apart &
the skin keeps tearing.
But nevertheless, it was fun making my own lunch today.

Was supposed to enjoy a night out with my girls tonight,
but I'm a little under the weather when I wake up this morning.
Went to see a doctor and now I have antibiotics to take.
(All the more impossible to go out and drink tonight).
Feeling rather sucky because it has been awhile since we hang out together,
was looking forward to it actually.
Sorry girls.

Looks like its another day of curling up in bed and rewatching gossip girls.

I'm really missing my long hair.

It's difficult to grow out short hair.
When it reaches the shoulder, you'll tend to trim it off because it's curling out.
I guess the only way to help is putting extensions.
Wanted to do that yesterday but D told me mine's not long enough for extensions.
She's right.
Grow faster pleaseeeeee.

Been drinking way too much for the past one week.
Feeling sleepy the whole of Saturday.
Drank some coffee at 10ish so that I can play mj with the family,
turns out now I'm wide awake at almost 2 in the morning.
Can't sleep for nuts.
But the cold weather is simply divine.
I could get used to it.

死都要演戏
Short film by Singapore Media Academy
(Subsidiary of Mediacorp)

That was my first attempt at acting.
After the 3 months course in SMA,
I found my passion for mandarin drama.
It was a fulfilling experience for me, and I've met lots of great people.

Our lessons are hardcore too.
On few occasions we have to adapt ourselves into the character within few seconds.
I still remember one of the lessons, I have to cry and cry and cry.
Initially I had no faith in myself because I seldom shed a tear.
It was out of my expectation that I actually cried for one whole hour and the sadness was genuine.
My throat just kinda felt tight and my tears flowed without cease lol.
It was easy because everyone was so into their own roles,
hence I felt the room and got affected by them.
One of the scenario I was a drug dealer and later got caught,
soon sentenced to death.
We acted the scene on my last day before my death sentence.
My dad, my mom came to visit me.
That was memorable because I totally put myself into the role and that was the day I found out I actually have tear ducts,
hahaha!

In the short film above,
I'm supposed to portray someone who isn't afraid and doesn't believe in ghosts.
It was difficult because in real life,
I'm superstitious, and I believe in ghosts.
I kinda need to become someone I am not.

Overall, a fun experience nevertheless.

Officially ended my education journey last friday.
Entering the adulthood is simply..
exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Anw, it's been long since I've updated this space.
I sure hope it's not pronounced dead by you guys.
I'll try my best to fill this page up with my life, like the way I used to do so frequently.

have a great new week ahead

Jakarta trip!

Tagged along to Jakarta with Soey and stayed at his place.
Nice mom and uncle who are both very hospitable.

It was a nice experience living life at a much slower pace,
be it certain areas are not as modern as Singapore,
but I do enjoy being exposed to that kind of environment,
makes me feel very down to earth.
& damn, all the food,
that's something Singapore can never compete with Jakarta.
Cheap + nice.
You want nice food in Singapore? You gotta have the moolah and/or time to queue for it.
No such thing in Singapore as cheap + nice + no need to queue for it.
Jakarta somehow managed to do it.

Had my childhood favourite treat after 17 years!

The world's craziest oily pancake with gener gener generroouuus amount of cheese and chocolate (each piece contains almost one can of Planta butter I swear) one mouthful of it and you'll meet your daily required intake of calories

You'll laugh at Singapore's mutton satay so hard while savouring these.

Best noodle soup ever. Kangkong noodles with salty minced meat in flavourful soup

& we literally overdosed on seafood.
We had seafood like, 3 times in 4 days.
I can feel the level of mercury in my body hitting the maximum.
Seafood in their country is very cheap and tasty and everywhere you walk there are seafood stalls.
Can't help but sit down for some.

Bullied like I'm some Uno Stacko

There was a flood just outside Soey's place.
Funny story, was enjoying the flooding experience,
until one night I fell into a deep drain.
The flood kinda blinded me and I didn't spot a drain at the corner.
Got my knees scrapped and I cried because of all the filthy water soaking my whole body.
:(

Spent 2 days 1 night at a resort at the mountain top.
It's something like genting highlands.
The hotel is very spacious and comfy,
we enjoyed the cold weather and pretty much stayed in and play card games.
There wasn't much recreational stuffs to do over there that's why.
But the place is awesome.

Played fireworks on one of the nights too!
It was pretty, but it's gonna be my first and last experience,
too dangerous for my liking.

& now I'm back in Singapore for almost a week already.
Feeling like a fatty but at the same time, too lazy for exercise.

Have great monday blues everyone!
